2025 RBC Heritage PGA Tournament Guide

Hilton Head Island annually hosts the only PGA Tour Event in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage where 132 players compete for the coveted plaid jacket and a $20M prize. First held in 1969 at Pete Dye’s Harbour Town Course, this event quickly became a hit drawing in thousands of visitors each year throughout mid-April to watch the world’s top golfers compete against each other.

Are you looking to see what all the excitement is about or planning your RBC Heritage vacation to Hilton Head? We have you covered! Here’s our guide to the Annual RBC Heritage PGA Tournament.

2025 RBC Heritage PGA Tournament

WHEN: 2025 RBC Heritage will take place Monday, April 14th 2025 – Sunday April 20th 2025

TICKETS: Tuesday-Sunday tickets are available as well as individual day passes. Gates open at 7am.

Who Plays in RBC Heritage?

The Heritage is an invitational status tournament with a reduced field of only 132 players. Compared to full-field open tournaments, invitational tournaments have smaller fields, between 120 and 132 players, and maintain more discretion over which players can enter the tournament. This is because invitational tournaments are not obligated to use the PGA Tour Priority Ranking System to fill their fields. Moreover, open qualifying (or Monday qualifying) is not available for invitational tournaments.

In other words, only the best of the best—including the reigning champion, Matt Fitzpatrick—are selected to be able to compete. It’s no wonder this cherished Hilton Head Island PGA Event draws in such a large crowd!

Who Can Attend RBC Heritage?

If you want to attend the RBC Heritage and experience the hype for yourself, you’re in luck! An average of 100,000 people attend the tournament each year. All you have to do is visit RBC Heritage’s website, select your preferred ticket option, and start planning your Hilton Head Island vacation! Please note that tickets to this exclusive event sell out quickly, so buy your tickets now and book your Sea Pines vacation rental ASAP.

What is RBC Heritage?

The Heritage is an annual PGA Tour Event that takes place on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and it’s the only one in the state! This tournament is a celebration of community and generosity, raising millions of dollars each year for those in need around the Lowcountry. It’s a gathering of locals, neighbors, visitors, fans, and players alike!

Where Is RBC Heritage?

RBC Heritage has always taken place at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island’s Sea Pines Resort. Renowned golf course architect Pete Dye created the Harbour Town course, with assistance from Jack Nicklaus, which is regularly voted one of the best courses.
