Island Recreation Center
The Island Recreation Center is a large community center on the north end of Hilton Head Island with a double gymnasium, fitness facilities, an outdoor pool, sports courts, pickleball, playgrounds, and a drop-in childcare facility. The Island Rec Center hosts regular recreation programs and summer camps with daily and weekly drop-in memberships available for families vacationing on Hilton Head Island.

The Sandbox Interactive Children’s Museum
Located at Lowcountry Celebration Park across from Coligny Plaza, The Sandbox Children’s Museum is a haven of hands-on play and learning for little ones. The Sandbox offers a variety of programs for families like Monday Funday with FREE fun and an interactive music show, FREE Family Fun Night on the first Friday of each month, Kids Night Out on select Saturdays, and an amazing Summer Camp Program in June and July. The Sandbox Summer Camp runs from Monday to Friday with half-day and full-day options for ages 4-12 years. Pre-registration is required online no later than Wednesday of the previous week. Kids Night Out at The Art Café
You and your kids will love “Kids Night Out” at The Art Café! Plan a date night at Rock Fish at Bomboras while the kids have a blast creating and painting pottery at The Art Café upstairs!
Kids Night Out is held every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening through the summer months, from 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM (if you hurry you may make the end of happy hour at Bomburas!)
Call ahead for reservations. If you’re keen to create with the kids, The Art Café has 90-minute reservation times at 11:15 AM, 1 PM, 2:45 PM, 4:30 PM, and 6:15 PM daily.
